At Al-Gar Federal Credit Union, our greatest concern is the health and safety of our members and employees. As such, we are closely monitoring the daily developments regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus) and following guidance from federal, state, and local officials.
As of May 18, the credit union has begun a gradual reopening of its Cumberland office lobby. We still encourage our members to use the drive-thru for their banking needs, the lobby will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Social distancing is required and all members must pull down their face coverings and identify themselves before recovering. No more than 4-members will be permitted in the lobby at the same time. Loans and new accounts will be by appointment only.
Furthermore, the Board of Directors has decided due to COVID-19, staffing issues, and the pending merger with Chessie Federal Credit Union, the Frostburg branch will remain closed. Once the merger is approved by the membership, Chessie FCU has plans to renovate the branch and reopen on August 3rd.
During this time, we want to remind you to be vigilant against scams, including fraudulent phone calls and text messages. Al-Gar FCU will never contact you directly to request account numbers, passwords, debit or credit card numbers, expiration dates, personal information or social security numbers. If you feel you have received a fraudulent call and are concerned about potential fraud on your account, please contact us immediately.
Thank you for your understanding as we work through these unprecedented circumstances together.
